NEW FRESHMEN and Transfer Students

This website contains important information about how you need to prepare, so please read carefully and continue to check the site for updates as your arrival dayapproaches.

SATISFY ALL FINANCIAL AND ENROLLMENT OBLIGATIONS

All new students MUST COMPLETE the following in order to be “cleared” to move in to the residential halls and/or attend classes.

PAYMENT

Satisfy yourfinancial obligations with the Office of Student Accounts no later than August 7 (payment due date).

  • Make sure that you
    FAFSA applicants – ٴ:

    • View the status of your Fall 2023 award(s) (from the Financial Aid tab, select 2023-2024); and

    • Check for outstanding documents.

  • View your account and make payments using Banner Self Service at

HEALTH FORM

Submit your completed health formto the Office of Campus Health Services and immediately (due date was July 15). If you have not already mailed your health form, please instead bring it with you when you arrive for residential move-in or commuter check-in.

TRANSCRIPT(S)

Submit your final official high school transcript (must be signed with graduation date) or final official college transcript (if applicable)by mail to the Office of Admissions, Delaware State University, 1200 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or have your high school counselor submit it toadmissionsdocs [at] desu.eduimmediately (due date was July 15).

SUBMIT YOUR UNIVERSITY ID PHOTO

If your ID photos are not provided by Friday, August 18, your ID pickup will be delayed.

Submit two photos in JPG format toidoffice [at] students.desu.eduforyourUniversityIDcard in orderto make sure your ID isready for you to pick up during move-inweek. When emailing your photos, please also include yourfirst name, last name and D100 number.

The photos have very specific requirements.Please visit “Submit Your University ID Photo Online” under Step 10.The photos required to be uploaded are:

  • A photo ofavalidgovernment-issuedID(If you do not have a government ID or a state ID, please upload your school ID with allyourinformation).
  • A photo to be used as your Delaware State University ID photo(Please reviewthe specific requirements before sending).

RESIDENTIAL MOVE-IN DATES FOR STUDENTS

Students who have applied for housing and are awaiting confirmation of housing assignment, please check your Delaware State University email for notification.

Allstudents must have completely satisfied all financial obligations and requirements and must have a completed health form on file with Campus Health Servicespriorto moving into a resident hall.

  • Wednesday, August 23 | 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.: New studentsONLY
    • Evers, Warren Franklin, Carpenter, Towers, Gooding, Tubman floors 1, 3, and 5
  • Thursday, August 24| 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.: New students ONLY
    • Jenkins, Tubman, Gooding, Williams, Carpenter, Commons, Tubman floors 2, 4, and 6
  • Friday, August 25| 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.: Upperclassmen
    • Courtyards 2, 3 & 6,Village Building 1,Zimmerman,Commons
  • Saturday, August 26| 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.: Upperclassmen
    • Village Buildings 2, 3,Courtyard 1, 4, 5 & 7,Malmberg
  • Students are asked to bring no more than two guests to campus;those two guests may enter the building to help you unload items.

Enter campus throughGate 2, the second gate on College Road west of Route 13/North DuPontHighway.

DSU DOWNTOWN

Enter the main parking area off North State Street.

AFTER ENTERING CAMPUS, PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • SHOW YOUR HORNET EXPRESS FASTPASS:If you successfully completed all of your required enrollment steps in advance and were emailed a Hornet Express FastPass prior to your arrival, you will be directed to your residence hall. Your student ID will be available at your residence hallif you emailed your ID photo prior to the deadline.
    • Note: Upon arrival to your assigned residential hall, no more than 15 minutes will be allowed for you to unload your vehicle, at which time you will be directed to park in a secondary parkinglot.
  • SATISFY YOUR ENROLLMENT OBLIGATIONS:If you have financial or other enrollment obligationsto satisfy, you will be directed tomeet with student servicesrepresentatives in the following locations:
    • Wednesday and Thursday, August 23-24 (new students)
      • Main Campus:Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center 2nd Floor Parlors
      • kufunDowntown:H.B. DuPont College Center lobby
    • Fridayand Saturday, August 25-26 (returningstudents)
      • Main Campus:Bank of America Building First Floor
      • kufunDowntown:H.B. DuPont College Center lobby
  • Once you have satisfied your enrollment requirement(s), you will be issued an electronic blue Clearance Card for move-in and directed to your assigned residential hall.
  • Upon arrival, no more than 15 minutes will be allowed for you to unload your vehicle, at which time you will be directed to park in a secondary parkinglot.
    • Your student ID will be provided to you at the MLK after satisfying your enrollment obligations if you emailedyour ID photo prior to the deadline.
  • Please note: If you did not email your ID photo prior to the deadline, your student ID will be available for pickup at the Campus Police Building after August 26.
